Double Jack Imperial IPA from Firestone Walker. Said to be as good as or better than Pliny (which I’ve yet to track down). Double Jack is good stuffs.

Epic Pale Ale – Epic Brewery in New Zealand.

As I am Kiwi by marriage, I like helping out the NZ economy by buying things “Made in New Zealand”. Sadly, I haven’t found it here in NorCal – yet. No problem…. brewed a clone and I must say it’s mighty tasty! Happy to share with URP folks. AR50?

Christmas Ale is my favorite seasonal.

During the interview with Anton, he mentioned that it was hard to find a good pumpkin ale. I recently found one of the best pumpkin ales I have ever had. It is from a small micro-brewery around St. Louis, MO called Schlyfly (I think that it how you spell it) and I hear they make a great IPA. The best IPA I have had was from Dogfish Head Brewery. Sam Addams also make a great IPA called Latitude 42. Try them!

Odell Brewing Co’s IPA from Colorado but crickey it costs a lot in the UK. There’s the Mountain Standard Double Black IPA available now too. American friends take pity and send me a case…

If you are ever in the Seattle area- I recommend Manny’s Pale Ale by Georgetown Brewing Co. They don’t
bottle their beer; however, many hip places carry it on draft. Love NorCal beers. I am originally from Sonoma,
so I concur about the deliciousness of those breweries you guys mention. Now that I live in Oregon- My
favorite go to beer has to be Deschutes Brewery’s Mirror Pond Pale Ale. I know it is widely produced- like
Sierra Nevada’s Pale Ale but it is so smooth and the flavors are yummy. I don’t drink much (a beer or two a
month) lately- the sugars kill me while I sleep. Also, in the heat of the summer I love Lost Coast Breweries’
Tangerine Wheat.

Right now, two from Breckenridge Brewery: Vanilla Porter and Avalanche Ale. If you’re down here in Texas, find Real Ale’s Coffee Porter from Blanco. Believe it’s a seasonal but very rad.

Am I the only person who doesn’t want a 10%ABV beer? Seems a lot of breweries and alehouses advertise how strong the beer is…no thanks.
I love a good beer buzz as much as the next guy, but I also want to try a few different brews before I pass out.

Surly Furious or Bender – Either one is fantastic! Furious is an IPA that will knock you socks off. I can drink one of these anytime, and I am always, always in awe. It makes me stop and take notice. Hell of a good beer. Bender is a stout that is also terrific. If you get a chance, drink these and repeat!

Enjoying a lot of Austin Beerworks Black Thunder down here in Austin, TX. Smithwick’s is always a go-to (when I can afford it!), but I’m really looking forward to some Bell’s Best Brown and Two Hearted Ales when I’m back home in Northern Michigan for a visit next weekend. Yum! Michigan: not only America’s High-Five and the Great Lakes State, but The Great Beer State as well!
