Revolver Blood and Honey American Ale
Info
Brewed by Revolver Brewing in Granbury Texas.
American Wheat Ale.
From the brewery: An unfiltered deep golden ale made with malted two row barley and wheat. The brew is finished with Blood Orange zest, local Fall Creek Farms Honey and other spices that bring special flavors to this unique beer.
ABV 7%, IBU 20
I had a 12oz bottle. Don’t know what it cost, probably around $4-5?
Appearance
Pours like a hazey hefeweizen. Straw-colored with not much head.
Smell
Definite banana, wheat, orange juice, and lemon scents. Not a strong smell but what was there was nice.
Taste
OOooh! Hell yeah! Tastes a lot like it’s brewed with bret, but I can’t find anything indicating such. Definitely has witbier characteristics or that of a Saison. Accents are honey, yeast, tangerine, orange juice. Definitely a quality and drinkable beer.
Overall
That’s a damn good beer. Nothing complex or fussy about it, just a nice twist on a wheat beer that I’d love to try again.
