Rodenbach Grand Cru (Flemish Ale)

OK, now here’s a traditional Flemish Red.  Brewed out of the Brouwerij Rodenbach in Belgium, this screams sour, cherry, and balsamic vinegar. Very strong nose that is replicated to the same taste.  Like many sours, there are strong cola overtones, but this also displays strong tart apples and a prickly effervescence on the sides of the mouth.  This would be a great “intro” to sours. If you like this, you’re going to be good. If you don’t like this, sours probably aren’t your thing right now.

Best news? At under $10 for a 750mL, it’s a relative steal!  6% ABV, and I’ll be buying a lot more of this.
