Very cool: Alyssa Godesky and Sarah Keyes are both going for the same FKT (Adirondack 46 High Peaks) at the same time, but it’s a “choose your own route” format, so they could potentially run into each other a few times along the way. Track Sarah here and Alyssa here.

โ€œIโ€™m pretty successful at living a life I enjoyโ€

Track: Watch the last four laps of Joshua Cheptegei’s new WR for the 5,000. So relaxed and so happy. DAMN.

Really enjoying watching Coree and Travis compete in Eco Challenge Fiji. We’re only on episode two but I’ve already found my pacing idol for the year. Dude redlined on the paddle portion and had to be dragged out by a rope in his underpants.

Great gift idea: The Periodic Table of the Elements of Adventure, courtesy of Brendan at semi-rad.

Classic ultramarathons in the US: Waldo 100k. Yo AJW or Craig, where’d the original name (Where’s Waldo 100k) come from?

Slowtwitch: Des Linden looking at UTMB and Comrades.

Are you ready for the virtual Big’s Backyard? Should be fun to watch.

Bored?: Spend some time geeking out on the ultrarunning statistic page.

Treeline Journal: Chase writes about his first year of no beer living. Two things I can relate to: The candy! My appetite for sweets skyrocketed in the first year as my body attempted to replace the sugar I was getting in alcohol. And the weight loss. I didn’t lost one damn pound.

Dole Whip Beer? Come. On. Florida.

Today’s forecast for Sacramento: 107 degrees and light rain. But hey, at least we don’t have freaking fire tornadoes.

And again, thank you to everyone who’s written me in the past week. I’m trying to get back to you all but am frankly overwhelmed at the amount of emails. Geez, make a guy feel good! Thank You to everyone who has written. I certainly appreciate it.
