Privacy

The short answer is that there is almost nothing to disclose. The long answer follows.

Most privacy policies are long because the site behind them is doing a great deal. This one is short for the opposite reason.

Cookies

None. This site sets no cookies of any kind — not for sessions, not for preferences, not for anything. There is no cookie banner because there is nothing to consent to.

Analytics

None. There is no Google Analytics, no Plausible, no Fathom, no Matomo, no self-hosted analytics, and no tracking pixel. We do not know how many people read any page here and we are at peace with it.

Third-party requests

None. Every asset this site loads — stylesheets, fonts, images — is served from this domain. Nothing is fetched from a content delivery network, a font service, a social platform, an advertising network or an embedded player. Opening a page here contacts exactly one server: this one.

There are no share buttons, no embedded video, no comment system and no font requests to Google or anyone else.

What the server records

The web server keeps standard access logs, as essentially all web servers do. Each request writes a line containing the IP address, the time, the page requested, the response code, and the browser’s user-agent string. This is how the server works, not a decision made about you.

These logs are used for one thing: checking that the site is up and that pages are not erroring. They are not analysed for behaviour, not joined to anything else, not sold, not shared, and are rotated and deleted on the server’s normal schedule.

Forms and email

There are none. No form on this site collects anything, there is no mailing list and no signup, and the site has no mailbox attached to it. There is no route by which this site obtains your personal data.

Outbound links

Pages here link out to races, magazines, manufacturers and reference sources. Once you follow a link you are on someone else’s site under their rules, and we have no control over and no visibility into what they do.

Children

Nothing here is directed at children and nothing here collects information from anyone, of any age.

Changes

If this ever stops being accurate, this page changes first. Any change that means data starts being collected will be stated here in plain terms rather than buried in a definitions section.
